On the Beach (Open)

Mariko sat on the sand looking out at the water. The sun was shining and she was in a fairly good mood. Destiny Island had that strange effect on her. She smiled and lay down, crossing her hands behind her head. A soft breeze blew through her hair. She closed her eyes, listening to the waves crashing against the beach. Everything was peaceful, and Mariko soon fell into a light sleep.

Ooc: Not very good, but whatever…

Sora came out of his hut and walked onto the dock. He looked around and noticed a girl laying on the beach. She looked asleep and he had never seen her before. So he walked over to her and stood near her and looked down at her "Hello" He said softly.

Mariko was instantly awakened by the voice. She opened her eyes and say a boy standing over her. She jumped up quickly and looked at him suspiciously. He didn't appear to be dangerous but she had found that that counted for little. "Who are you?" she said looking at him.

Sora jumped at her jumoing "Heh Sorry for startling you... My name is Sora, and im the leader of this world" He replied and gained his composure "And who might you be?" He asked.

"Mariko," Mariko said crossing her arms. She looked him over and then raised an eyebrow. She could tell he wasn't that bad of a person, so she calmed down a little and went back to her good mood. "You know you shouldn't sneak up on people like that," she said with a slight smile.

"I know... So what Brings you to Destiny Island?" He asked her.

"Uh....Stuff," Mariko said. She put a finger to her chin. It probably wasn't the best answer, but she really didn't have one. "I just came here," she said trying to sound clearer. "There really isn't a reason."

"Ok... How do you like it so far?" He asked her after sitting down and looking out to the ocean.

Mariko smiled. "It's nice," she said simply. This wasn't her first time here, but Sora didn't need to know that. She sat down cross-legged and smiled at him brightly.

"So Peacful isnt it... I just love it here" He said small smiling back at her. He then looked out at sea agian as the breeze came back and blew some sand around.

"Yeah," Mariko said following his gaze out toward the water, "but I bet it gets boring after a while. It would for me anyway." She looked at him out of the corner of her eye, still smiling.

"It does.... but im goin to be putting in some Amusment parks and stuff later on on the other half of the island" He replied and got up. He then took off his shoes and jumped into the water and began to swim.

Mariko laughed. Sora didn't seem like the usual authority figures she met. This was probably because he was still mostly a kid. Mariko watched him swim, not wanting to get wet herself. She wondered what it must be like to live in such a peaceful place.

He got low into the water to where his hair was just sticking out. One of his pals standing on the hut and played the jaws music from the speakers. Sora and him always do this for fun. his friend Quickly disappeared leaving no trace that he was there. Sora would swim around with just his hair sticking out like a shark fin.

Mariko raised an eyebrow and wondered what he was doing. It was obvious by the music that he was acting like a shark. But why? she thought.

Sora jumped out of the water with his hands up and curled like claws. As he jumped out of the water he raored "Roar" He said. and splashed back into the water. While he was in the air the music paused and started again when he was back in the water.

As Sora went back into the water, Mariko was splashed and found himself completely drenched. She sat there for a second with an annoyed look on her face. Then she stood up. "Your going to get it now," she said kicking off her shoes and running into the water.

Sora laughed and noticed her coming into the water "Uh oh" He said and dived down and swam further out.

Mariko fallowed Sora. Her temper was slightly flaring and she wasn't going to give up the chase. She was swimming quickly and had almost caught up to him.

He turned and saw her coming up quick Oh crap he thought and started to swim again.

Mariko was just a few feet behind him. She started to swim faster, ready to attack. I have you now, she thought.

He kept swiming thinking sh e wasnt getting closer. So he stopped and when he looked back she was right infront of him.

"Ha," Mariko yelled and put both of her hands on his head. Then she dunked him. It was the best she could do in the deeper water.

Sora then waved his arms aaround while laughing. He got free and looked at her "What... you dont like getting wet" He said with a chuckle.
